Broc Cellars isn’t your average California winery. There’s no sprawling estate, no manicured tasting room overlooking rolling vineyards here, friends. Instead, it’s an urban winery in Berkeley, built on a belief that great wine doesn’t need manipulation - it just needs to be left to do its thing.

The fella behind it all? Chris Brockway, a Nebraska native who didn’t inherit a winery or follow the usual industry playbook. Instead, he carved his own path, moving to the Bay Area in the early 2000s, studying oenology, and eventually launching Broc Cellars in 2006. His goal was simple: make wine as naturally as possible, without the heavy-handed techniques that dominate California winemaking. That being said, there are a few practices that are unwavering here. No commercial yeasts, no unnecessary additives, and little to no sulfur additions.
